The 33rd year Manhattan College Retreat is:
“Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts”
Check back with us on further updates!
St Paul said to the Colossians “Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts” –
This scripture is telling us that peace will not just come and stay with us of it’s own accord. We need to allow it to settle within our hearts and hold it fast so that our peace is not taken away. This verse tells us that we have to PURSUE peace. That is, we need to chase after it so as to not let it escape us.
The retreat team has selected this Scripture as the theme for our 33rd Manhattan College
Reality Retreat which will be held at the beautiful Mt. Alvernia Retreat Center in Wappingers Falls, NY on
September 27,28, 29th, 2024.
We invite you to come to this year’s Retreat ready to recharge your batteries, soak up the energy of
others, and shine your light for all to see. Please share this gift and bring your son, grandson, or a friend.
The Sacraments of the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Anointing will be available to strengthen your faith.
Our Retreat Mission is to inspire men to take responsibility for their spiritual lives and develop an
intimate relationship with Jesus.
May God bless you and your loved ones,
Live Jesus in our hearts forever,
Peter Monaco, CE

Colossians 3:15
Reflection:
St. Paul writes, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful”. This verse can be interpreted to mean that people should allow the truth of what Christ has done for them to dictate their actions, and that the peace of Christ is a calmness or tranquility that comes from becoming a disciple of the Son of God. It also means that people should be thankful, and that the peace of God is conditional on a believer being in a relationship with the Lord Jesus. This includes abiding in Christ, trusting His Word, depending on His guidance, dying to self, and living for Him..
