Dear Brothers in Christ,

In abundance of caution, and for the health and safety of its visitors, Mount Alvernia Retreat Center has been forced, in view of New York State guidelines, to cancel its programs and retreat offerings of our size for the foreseeable future.  Unfortunately, therefore, we cannot go forward with a “live” in person Retreat on September 25,26,27, 2020 as planned.

Please Note:

The Retreat Team is pleased to invite you to a virtual “Mini-Retreat” Saturday, September 26th, 2020 from 9am to 1 pm.
Be nourished by two engaging speakers, Fr. Anthony Sorgie, Pastor Immaculate Conception & Assumption of Our Lady, Tuckahoe, NY, and Joseph Quinn, Parish Consultant with Matthew Kelly’s Dynamic Parish.  Share with other retreatants in a virtual conference meeting, followed by small virtual breakout rooms where reflection and discussion will take place – as we have done for the past 28 years!
If we take as our own the prayer of St. Paul — ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 — we will navigate even the most turbulent waters of life far more peacefully and successfully because Jesus is with us, helping us do what we could never accomplish on our own.

2019 was the 28th installment of the Reality Retreat, which was started by a group of Manhattan College alumni and friends, many of whom worked in business settings in NYC, who were seeking a way of strengthening their faith and bridging that faith from Sunday Mass into the start of the workweek on Monday morning.

Our weekend day Virtual Mini-Retreat will feature two great speakers, enriching fellowship and camaraderie on a new online platform. Past speakers have woven their personal witness stories together with the annual theme, inspiring our attendees.

Again, we hope that you will plan to join us for our 29th year,  the 2020 retreat on September 26th, from 9am to 1pm on ZOOM.
